C. Tradd Harter, DMD
Dr. Tradd Harter grew up in Anderson, South Carolina, and moved here with his wife, Betsy, in 1999. He graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology before attending the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. There he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD).

While in dental school, he conducted and presented research on craniofacial genetics at the Thomas Hinman dental meeting. He attended specialty residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. While in residency, he presented research to local orthodontics on digital photography and its impact on clinical usage in the orthodontic practice. His research was published and presented at the annual meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Harter is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Georgia Association of Orthodontists, Eastern District Dental Society, and past president of the Clarke County Dental Society. He is board eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Harter enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, Gavin. He also enjoys a number of hobbies such as photography, watercolor painting, tennis, golf, water skiing, snow skiing, bicycling, shooting skeet and sporting clays, and upland bird hunting.

James E. Morang, DDS, PC
Dr. James Morang grew up in Winterville, Georgia and graduated from Athens High School before it became Clarke Central. He attended North Georgia College and University of Georgia before graduating with honors from Emory University School of Dentistry. After two years in the Navy, he returned to Emory for his post-graduate degree in Orthodontics.

Dr. Morang has practiced Orthodontics in Athens since 1971. He is married to the former Laura Bowen, who is also from Athens. They have five children, the youngest of which are surprise addition twins. He raced sailboats for years, which has led to many trips and great family experiences. The twins now race in college. The other children are married with families including two young grandchildren. The family is outdoors-oriented, enjoying canoeing, camping, scuba diving, and hiking. He gets a lot of exercise with long distance bicycle riding. The most interesting bicycle trip was a tour from the Grand Canyon across Arizona to Mexico. The most fun trip was to Moab, Utah, on a six day mountain bike trip with his son, William.

He is a past president of both the Clarke County Dental Society and the Emory Orthodontic Alumni Association.

Drs. Harter and Morang believe that continued education is a tremendous part of assuring the best care for their patients. They attend many continuing education courses throughout the year to stay current with the latest techniques and materials. These include annual meetings for the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Georgia Association of Orthodontists, Georgia Dental Association, Inter-disciplinary Conferences with other dental professionals, study clubs, and constant research review.
